Friday, July 6, 2007 - Rotary Installation Program Today
UC Rotary Holds Installation Day
Today, Union City Rotarians stage their annual Installation Program as Barry Keathley succeeds Steve Goodrich and becomes our 74th club president. Steve will run down the list of accomplishments during his year as president and Barry will tell us about his goals for the coming twelve months. Other officers moving up the Rotary ladder today include Steve Conley’s rise to president-elect and Randy Barnes’ hike to secretary. Gary Houston becomes sergeant-at-arms while Al Creswell will be installed as ascending director. Directors for the new Rotary year include Jody Kizer and Jim Bondurant. Out-going president Goodrich becomes past-president and a member of the board of directors. Wilford Wilkinson, of Ontario, Canada succeeds William Boys as International President and Rufus Clifford, of Columbia, succeeds “Slick” Frazer, of Murfreesboro, as District 6760 Governor. “Rotary Shares” is our new international theme. Let’s have a great year in Union City Rotary!
RI Exchange Student Hailey Fishel to Report on Trip
Next week, Rotarians will hear from Rotary Exchange Student Hailey Fishel on her recent trip to Sweden. Hailey is the daughter of Eric and Camille Fishel of Obion County.
Kris Moore Touts Services of Behavioral HealthCare
Last week, Rotarians heard from Kris Moore, Community Education Director for Behavioral HealthCare Center in Martin. Kris talked about some of the devastating brain diseases that cripple our senior adults in the sunset of their lives. “As the baby boomer generation ages, this is going to become a more societal concern,” Kris said. The various types of diseases BHCC treats are Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Parkinson’s.
